Two Thirds Theatre goes to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival

The show RODNEY AND JULIE J has a cast, has a crew, has an abundance of creativity and has two successful runs under its belt... now it just needs a venue for its third run, this time in Edinburgh. We aim to raise enough money for our registration fee to join the Fringe Festival and also for a deposit on a venue in our home town of Newcastle to start our other fundraising events. We are looking for a foundation, a starting step on our intrepid journey to the fringe. RODNEY AND JULIE J was produced to be a light hearted version of the well-known classic ROMEO AND JULIET. Its purpose was to make people laugh and look at classical theatre in a whole new way. Instead of two families at war, the piece is now set around the premise of two competing supermarkets, ASDA VS TESCO. "Two household supermarkets, both alike in dignity and price, in fair common land where we lay our scene..." The production has no scenery or props (apart from a ukulele) that s just how cool we are! Instead the wonderfully talented actors create scenery and props with their bodies. We want you, our lovely audience, to witness something truly unique. So we create supermarkets, a bar and car parks using mime and vocal techniques. Oh that s cleverÉ we hear you say? Well yes, it is, but it s all meant to be fun and games really. We keep some of the classical text - just to keep you on your toes- and so we can interpret them in a way you haven t seen before. The cast and crew are made up of acting students from Newcastle college , who are determined to make in the world of performing arts and reproduce classic theatre for a modern generation. We have signed posters to give away , tickets to our other fundraising events (one event a month up until august) dvds of the original production, scripts , and personalised comedy videos from our improv team. We want to take classic theatre and turn it on its head, we want this strong happy team of actors to have a chance to showcase this successful production across the border to a whole new crowd. Two Thirds Theatre thank you for your time, support and inspiration.www.twothirdstheatre.co.uk To learn more about our show and cast, please feel free to visit our website.
