About the project
Over the past year the Green parties across the UK have seen an unprecedented growth in membership.
2015 is going to be a big year for the Scottish Greens, and building on this public enthusiasm, in the Highalands and Islands we’ll be contesting three of the regions Westminster seats this May.
Challenging for the Ross, Skye and Lochaber seat is branch secretary Anne Thomas. Familiar to many as a passionate community and climate activist, Anne is an active member of the Transition Black Isle group, and campaigner with friends of the Earth.
In Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey the dynamic Isla O’Reilly is aiming to cut a Green swathe through the field of suit-wearing middle-aged men in what’s likely to be one the most fiercely contested seats in the country.
Moray will see its first ever Green candidate in this year’s general election, in local branch Convenor, and Young Green, James MacKessack-Leitch. A passionate local campaigner he’s taking the Green message to a new audience.
Three great candidates, but three tough battles, and if we’re to make an impact in this years election we need your help.
We don’t get any funding from big business or millionaire donors.
We rely on real people, like you:
People who want to see equality, not poverty – a £10 minimum wage by 2020.
People who want to see public services in public hands – taking back our railways and investing in the future.
People who want to see real democracy in action – in Westminster, Holyrood, Brussels, and our Council Chambers too.
Every penny we raise helps us to stand up for the new politics we need.
Please help us to make that difference and convince more people to vote Green in 2015.
PS. If you wish to pledge £50 or more - thank you very much - you will need to provide us with your address so we can confirm with the electoral comission that your donation is valid.
