Treading the Boards, or TTB for short, is the University of Aberdeen's 26 year old musical theatre society. Each year, a group of students form a committee, and with the help of their production team put on a show at the ACT aberdeen. In the past few years we have put on shows such as The Producers, The Wedding Singer, Sweet Charity, and, this year we put on the hugely successful "Our House" the musical, based on the popular music by the band Madness.
The last few years have found TTB in a very difficult financial position. Putting on a show is a very expensive business, and in order to keep performing each year we spend the majority of our time fundraising, as well as reaching out to sponsors and the community for help. Despite our cast putting up a valiant effort to fundraise this year and smashing our fundraising targets again and again, years of financial issues have finally beaten us.
Our last show was our most successful show in nearly a decade, but if we are to stay afloat for another show, we need your help. Without it, we will not be able to continue a 26 year long tradition of doing what we love and bringing a show to Aberdeen. Without your help, the only musical theatre society at the university of aberdeen will dissolve, and this is why we are reaching out to you today.
If you have a couple of pounds to spare, and you wish to support us in any way, please consider donating to us here. To show our thanks, we have set up a number of rewards which you can look at on this page. With your help, we will be able to get back on our feet and continue to bring quality shows to ACT aberdeen, and if you can spare anything, from pennies to pounds, we would be eternally grateful.
Thank you for your support as always, and we hope to see you onstage again very soon.
