I have been given an amazing opportunity; to visit my link school in Tanzania where I will be working with the children, helping with lessons, renewing their resources and developing the school site. Our main aim is to purchase and equip the school with a fully-functioning kitchen that can provide all the children with a hot lunch every day. Tanzania is no longer part of the World Food Programme so schools are no longer funded to provide food. As a consequence school attendance has greatly dropped. This will have a long-term impact on the education of the community.
As part of our fundraising I have chosen to cycle 38 miles from Guildford to Shoreham along the North Downs Way. Having struggled with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for three years and been unable to exercise, I wanted to set myself a challenge that would have previously seemed impossible. This is a massive challenge for me and I would really appreciate your sponsorship to enable me to reach my goal and get to Tanzania where I can make a difference to the life of the community.
