New stretch target
Any extra funds will be donated to the family via the gofundme page for Joel Richards .
A 18ft x 6ft Villa supporter banner to be displayed at the pre season friendly vs Walsall to honour Walsall fans Joel Richards, 19, his uncle Adrian Evans, 49, and grandfather Patrick Evans, 78, who were all killed in the tragic shootings that took place in Sousse in Tunisia on June 26th. The trio were less than 24 hours into their holiday together.
All three were massive Walsall FC fans and had travelled to Wembley earlier this year to watch the team play in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final.
Joel's 16-year-old brother Owen who was also on the holiday survived the attack.
About the project
17-year-old Aston Villa fan Charlie Cox approached My Old Man Said about his idea of creating a banner to honour Walsall's fallen at the upcoming traditional pre season match between Walsall and Aston Villa. A couple of weeks ago, we put his idea out on social media to our members, readers and followers and they gave it the thumbs up.As well as honouring Patrick Evans, Adrian Evans and Joel Richards, it will offer solidarity between supporters and show unity between the two clubs. Since you have to be 18 and older to do a crowd funder page, we offered to host it for Charlie and also help him promote it. It is his idea and design, but we're backing him 100%.
The 18ft x 6ft banner will look like this:
Several Villa fans have already shown their respect by laying scarfs at Banks's Stadium and they'll be no better chance to pay further respects than at the actual game between the two teams on Saturday, 25 July. Please help Charlie realise his tribute (it'll only take a couple of hundred fans donating a £1) and any extra will be donated to the family via the gofundme page for Joel Richards . After it is displayed during the game, the banner will be given to Walsall FC after the match.
THE MONEY WILL NEED TO BE RAISED BY THIS WEDNESDAY (15th July) to ALLOW TIME TO PAY FOR BANNER AND GET IT PRODUCED IN TIME.The amount includes cost of banner, postage & fees.More details on the tragedy that the family experienced can be found in this Walsall Advertiser article
