They came in the night in the midst of our darkest hour...
After the first year there was nobody left to wonder where they had come from, nobody left to argue why they had come and nobody left to stop them.
The survivors of the night awoke to a new world of hunger and thirst - days spent scavenging for food and clean water; nights spent hidden, cowering in fear of what lay waiting for the darkness.
Richard still has Catherine. That& 39;s all that matters. To lose her would be to die himself. He will stop at nothing to keep her from what is outside but she is sick and her condition is deteriorating, he is running out of time to save her. Richard must find the strength to hold on to hope, he must keep the light in the dark hours…
The Dark Hours is a script I have been developing for an original short film about the human condition in the face of adversity. We have shot a scene of the film that we are using as a teaser trailer for our pitch.
All the highly professional crew and actors are working for free, but to be able to make the film to the standard that it deserves we need some real funding to afford some of the unavoidable hire costs and expenditures which we can& 39;t do without, these are mainly location fees and art-department costs, as well as make-up and special effects.
The Dark Hours story is compelling and enthralling; on the surface it is a suspense thriller, but if one peers below the surface it is a study into the duality of the human condition: are we essentially animals driven by instinct to do what we need to survive? or have we evolved in to something the transcends instinct, something that is prepared to do what is right for the greater good even though the circumstances are futile?
