We are Twisted Yarn Theatre Co. a small Dorset based theatre company made up of local young people aged 16-20 years old. We aspire to create unique pieces of theatre with both humour and heart. We are looking for money to fund our first production "The Cobbler& 39;s Daughter".
"The Cobbler& 39;s Daughter is a tale of right and wrong, beauty, vanity and murder.
The Cobbler and his wife live between two towns, with their two daughters.
One of the daughters, Elsie, is besotted with Jack. (A local lad) who is embarrassingly infatuated with Elsie& 39;s glamorous sister, The Cobbler& 39;s Daughter. This entirely heartbreaking love triangle becomes all the worse, when poor Elsie realises that she& 39;s pregnant - and Jack is to blame. Will Jack do the right thing and make things good? Or will he suffer for vanity and shallow ambition? Hearts will be broken, and blood will stain."
"The Cobbler& 39;s Daughter" comes from the song of the same name, by popular folk artist Kate Rusby. Kate and her team have given us kind permission to use her lyrics and her base story for our production.
Twisted Yarn was founded by two key members, Danielle Sharp and Jacob Lucy. Danielle will be taking on the role of director in the production, and Jacob will be designing the production. We plan to continue both of these roles into our prospective university educations.
We aim to perform our production in the Spring and Summer of 2013.
Any money that we make, we plan to feed straight back into our project. The money we raise will be put towards hiring a rehearsal space, funding costume, set and props. All of which believe will come together to create a quality production, full of heart, excitement and passion
