The Survivalist Series - A 2014 CAAPO Public Art Project - www.creativeassault.org
A Survivalist Series exhibition was held at Cardiff M.A.D.E in Nov 2014 featuring new works by Ania Bas, CAAPO, Pablo Perezzarate & Rich White
We celebrated our sixth year in existence with a series of 4 new commissions by selected artists invited to explore what the term ‘survival’ might mean.
The inspiration for this project lies in a Wales, UK and Worldwide trend of economic austerity and socio-political
unrest. In times of domestic hardship and enforced migration, people become separated into
groups. This disparateness creates pockets causing a fragmentation within society: People are united
and distinguished by their similarities. On these grounds, the battle for survival is fought.
The project also included a range of public engagement and dialogue events. Details and documentation of all the events within this project will be made available on our website over the coming weeks.
Art is for everyone and CAAPO believe that artists have a responsibility to make work that is relevant to peoples daily lives.
