We need to raise £1000, which will go towards the launch costs of this thrilling new family show. The show has been programmed into the HATCH FESTIVAL at The Little Angel Theatre. This work-in-progess preview presentation of the show is open to the public and industry professionals who are invited to watch, and give feedback on the show, thus helping the production to develop and further it's future life.

The Money raised though this crowd funding initiative will cover the critical startup costs that are needed to ensure the productions success.

About the project

Based on the fairytale by Hans Christian Andersen, this magical story brought to life by a talented ensemble of performers who use a mixture of Bunraku puppets, Object Manipulation, Music, Mask and Physical Theatre to take us on an unforgettable journey.

We follow the Tin Soldier as he meets a beautiful paper Ballerina and falls in love. But as we all know, true love never runs smoothly and we watch as the Tin Soldier goes on an adventure that would melt even the bravest of hearts.

The story comes to life on a simple set, from which the characters are able to leap out, and engage with our audience in an impressive feat of ensemble storytelling. A wonderfully visual feast; full of surprises, twists and turns, the show will charm and delight audiences of all ages.

Powerfully moving and imaginative, the audience gets caught up in this wonderful story about overcoming adversity and rising above the challenges of life.

How will the money be spent?

With funding coming from several sources every little helps and so any donations and support you can give will be a huge help to us. Our overall budget Start Up budget comes in at just under £4000.

The Arts Council England has generiously given us £1000 towards the project, and we have private finanicial support too, we therefore ONLY need £1000 through Crowdfunding to ensure the production can acheive it's full potential!

The £1000 we are asking for through CrowdFunding will cover:

-£200 Original Music Composition (some stunning music is in the process of being written, by an award winning composer)

-£250 Original Puppet Design & Construction (the stars of the show, these puppets will inspire children)

-£200 Costume (we can't have our performers on stage naked!)

-£250 Set & Props (imagine Gepetto's workshop; ladders, crates, boxes, dust sheets, from which this magical story comes to life)

-£100 BSL Signed Performance (to make this beautifully visual show as accessible as possible we are inviting a BSL signer and children from a local school for the deaf)
