After their sell-out show at the Edinburgh Fringe 2016, Simply Surreal return with our brand new, exciting play; The Second Coming.
It's farcical retelling of the Nativity story. It focuses on the ongoing debate of science vs religion, offering a neutral stance and delivering an empowering story of humanity.
The play has been developed over the last 6 months and is set to be put on for two weeks (between the 14th and 26th August 2017) at the Space on North Bridge (Carlton Hotel).
So far we have managed to raise about half of what we need to cover venue, costume, etc… but there is still a fair way to go.
To make it more interesting, we have decided to undergo forms of torture for your pre-show entertainment. Basically, we (Lisa, Dougal and Hannah) will be publically suffering whatever forfeits the money we raise makes us do. We will also film the forfeits and load them onto YouTube, where you will be able to enjoy our pain for years to come.
Anyway, here’s what we’ll do:
£100: We will make a pilgramage to the top of Arthur's Seat with an inflatable Jesus.
£250: We will dress up in the most ridiculous costumes we can lay hands on and venture into town for public ridicule.
£500: We will wax Dougal's chest.
£750: Come along and pelt us with paint balloons.
£1000: Is to be decided, please feel free to let us know what you would pay to see us do!
And if we raise £1000000… Dougal will shave his head.
