My journey so far:

Rowing has been a massive part of my life, I have been taking part in this sport for 9 years now and have been to some really exciting events such as Henley Royal Regatta, British Indoor Rowing Championships, National Junior Indoor Rowing Championships, Euro Indoor rowing Championships and many more. I competed from the bottom level of novice to now the highest level of racing in my region which is classified as Senior A, I have won various championships over the last few years in the single sculls category such as Novice, Senior C twice and most recently Senior B and now head for the final challenge in my region of taking the Senior A championship. I row at a club called Dart Totnes based in Totnes itself which holds over 200 members both young and old. when I go racing up country I am racing either Senior or Elite either in the lightweight category or normal heavyweight to give myself the extra challenge, I am classified as a lightweight rower as I fall under 72.5kg, this can often put me at a disadvantage against bigger and heaver rowers but I still put up a good fight. I have now got to the point where I’m now quick enough to trial for the GB Rowing Team after so much hard work and tears over these last few years and my journey has only just begun.

New strokes:

While I enjoy racing with my crew, single sculling Gives give me the chance to show the world what I am capable of as an individual. To help me Progress in this sport I need equipment and it is a costly sport due to the materials used. I’m currently looking for a brand new boat to help Make me quicker as it is set up for me but also to help me fight the problem of using the club's boat which is used by other people and often doesn’t allow me to train because of this. My ultimate dream being to represent my country at the Olympic Games. I have been testing out two of the best boat companies in the world which get used in events such as the Olympics and world rowing championships, but, I need to raise the funds to purchase it. Having trialled the boat I have experienced the difference a proper racing boat can make to my speed on the water. It's amazing! The boat would enable me to focus on training in my own single rather than worry about when the club needs the single back, improving my technique, building my base fitness and muscle power in readiness to race by myself. The only thing stopping me is money. I am dedicated and highly motivated, I train 6 days a week around work which can be tiring, whether it be on the water or on an indoor rowing machine.

Keeping the pace up:

Any donations to this project will be met with extreme gratitude as well as a signed photograph of me, and get regular updates of how much achievements are going in preparation for GB rowing trials in October 2016

I cannot express how much this would mean to me.

Please, let me show you and the world what I can do... Invest in my future!

 Thank you Lewis
