The Real Princesses of Yorkshire is a project working with women and girls in Yorkshire to create a series of photographic portraits that will be exhibited at Arts@Trinity in Leeds. The images will be staged in a variety of locations, featuring participants as 'Princesses'. The purpose is to challenge the limitations of fictional princesses as role models, whilst celebrating real women and girls in all their diversity. I'll also be maintaining a blog throughout the life of the project, exploring different perspectives/issues that crop up.

I'm incredibly fortunate in that my project is being supported by the Arts Council's Grants for the Arts scheme and Leeds Inspired, however, a condition of this funding is that I find match funding from other sources - hence this crowdfunder! The biggest costs are prints, costumes and covering participants' expenses.

All the 'rewards' in this list will be provided and paid for by me, not the project grants. And all backers will have the opportunity to book a place at the launch event in advance.
