About this project

OUR MISSION :To inspire individuals and teach the skills and awareness needed to make effective decisions in challenging situations. Heroism is alive and well, though it doesn't always wear spandex... I was sat in my arm chair watching TV one evening watching the news and began to feel quite sad and I was overcome with a feeling of sadness and uncertainty and I was beginning to lose faith in humanity. I then decided to cheer myself up so I went online to look up examples of real life heroes rather than mainstream news with their fear mongering. Our weekly glossy flyer will be handed out at Victoria train station to start off with, with the aim to expand to more London stations. The aim is to uplift peoples spirits during these uncertain and scary times we currently live in and to tell them inspiring stories of heroism and bravery and how to be more heroic and brave themselves with hints and tips and links to various websites. I am looking forward to bringing people news about the heroic acts of so many citizens from different walks of life. Every week we will be hand distributing the free flyer at train stations in London with the aim to expand this to other areas of the UK, long term is to take this worldwide in some form or another. I hope you can see my vision and passion for this project and the need to inspire heroism and bravery in the modern world. If The Hero In You has a positive effect on anyone and inspires someone to act heroically or brave then my mission will be worth while.

Please note that I myself will be in charge of distribution and printing and finding somewhere to get good quality service and printing is priority. Currently I am looking for a content writer with great passion for heroism who has the power to inspire with words. Currently I have one writer but require another unpaid passionate about the project person and getting this funding will help with not only that but also distributiong and printing costs and expansion in the long run. I have a big vision for the future of The Hero In You. Perhaps the greatest difficulty in teaching heroism lies in those popular perceptions of exactly what makes a hero. If you ask many people today to list some heroes, responses will likely include pop culture figures such as professional athletes and actors. "One of the problems with our culture is that we've replaced heroes with celebrities," Zimbardo says. "We worship people who haven't done anything.
