I am making a short film to highlight the issues of health care in rural areas and also the struggles of single parenthood from the point of view of a 12 year old child. The Film will be entered into Film festivals around the world.

Synopsis

The film is based around the relationship of a father and son in troubling times as the son cares for his frail father. However, an event one night brings them closer than ever before, testing their relationship. Arthur starts to suffer from a serious heart attack and it's up to his son to keep him alive and calm till the ambulance arrives.

Arthur

Arthur 40- 60 is a man who has experienced a lot of trauma in his life, he lost his wife at a young age and was forced to try and bring up his only son without her. He has worked as a labourer all his life and his health is deteriorating bit by bit. Due to this, he has a very distance relationship with his father even though his son cares for him.

Stuart

Stuart 12 years old is a young boy who had to learn quickly and is very independent. Never has gotten over the loss of his mother, but cares for his father all the time. He hides his emotions from his father and is also not a very out going boy, much preferring to read books and sit inside, than go out with friends. He is very much like the mother role now that he has lost his her doing the dishes and feeding his dad.
