'The curly hair project' uses a range of tools with one universal aim, which is to help the AS (person with Asperger's Syndrome) and the NT (Neurotypical) communicate with each other in their overlapping worlds.
What will the money raised be used for?
- Book printing services to print two books which are due for launch by the end of 2013
- Posters need to be printed and put up nationally to raise awareness of Asperger's Syndrome
- Talks and mentoring to schools and healthcare professionals, as requested
The curly hair project has been a raving success so far, backed up by lots and lots of testimonials and positive feedback from parents, teachers, healthcare professionals, as well as teenagers and adults with Asperger's Syndrome.
Asperger's Syndrome is currently NOT understood very well. It is often represented inaccurately. The aim of the curly hair project is to present and deliver educative, enjoyable, accessible, accurate information to people about what it's really like to live with Asperger's Syndrome.
