The Befriending Scheme's Sunday Lunch Club

A Charities project Sudbury, Suffolk, United Kingdom

We want to provide 120 Sunday lunches for vulnerable people in Suffolk this year, along with activities to combat loneliness and isolation.

The Befriending Scheme Sunday Lunch Club - Bringing People Together!

The Sunday Roast is as British as The Beatles, Big Ben or a London Bus. For millions around the country it’s the one time during the week that people come together, enjoy each other’s company and good food, but not everyone gets to experience this.

There is little available for vulnerable people in our area to enjoy at the weekend, often  their only options are to stay in alone or visit pubs or similar places that won’t always be a safe or suitable place for them to be. These people may be lonely, isolated or have a learning disability, they may not have a family or indeed anywhere to go, much less a chance to enjoy the traditional Sunday Roast.

Our goal is to provide 120 lunches to vulnerable people in the first year, with any extra raised over our target going to provide more people with the chance to enjoy a Sunday Lunch and good company. This is a big commitment as a charity and we need funds to purchase food, cooking implements/materials and of course a chef's services.

Every pound we raise in this campaign will go towards providing monthly Sunday Lunch Clubs, along with fun activities designed to make Sundays an exciting time that vulnerable people in Suffolk can look forward to.  We have designed an exciting list of rewards for donors and of course you will get the reward of knowing you are helping vulnerable people in our county to enjoy a lovely Sunday!

Please show your support and get involved!
