Help us throw a fantastic fundraiser and celebrate The Fox Foundation this October.
About the project
2015 sees the 30th anniversary of 'Back to the Future', a film that's brought together fans from across the UK now known as The Hill Valley Preservation Society. The group has grown and thrives on social media where we debate and discuss everything about the movies, including their cast, led by the incomparable Michael J Fox.
The group was set up after the Secret Cinema events in the Summer of 2014 to keep the heart of Hill Valley beating and the spirit of fun and friendship alive.
As part of the group's aims, we want to use our love for the films and respect for their star to raise some cash for The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
Our aim is to throw a party based on the 'Enchantment Under the Sea' dance where the McFly love story began. (Or almost didn't.) This will be held in South London on 17th October 2015. We have a brilliant venue in Wonderland, Sutton which has given us exclusive use until 10pm free of charge and we want to raise money to print flyers, buy prizes and hire the glorious, glimmering De Lorean Time Machine to be in attendance.
The party won't stop at 10, but we will dance on to the rockinest tunes of today in the club area and have exclusive use of their gorgeous VIP bar once the venue opens to the public.
Our aim is for 100% of the money raised from ticket sales to go straight to the Fox Foundation. To achieve this we need to raise funds to cover the running costs; thanks to a generous venue team we can channel every penny you donate into the little touches that will make a big impact.
We just want to bring a little bit of Hill Valley sunshine into your life.
In just four months last year we organised fundraising at screenings of the film, at sci-fi and film events and managed to raise a wonderful £1600. This year we are back and more determined to make this special year really count. Stop by and see what we are up to.
"Roads? Where we're going, we don't need... roads."
However we DO need:
- the shiny, legendary De Lorean time machine in attendance! Even with the kindness and support of its owner, this is our biggest single most expensive item at £475- but we have support that means only £200 raised on this page will be used to fund the transport costs and hire of the car.
- decorations- we have a great graphic design duo but we will need to cover purchase and printing costs plus flyers and badges for guests
- auction lots- if you want to help but not by giving cash, we'd love signed film memorabilia, treats, gifts and other goodies we can auction to raise moolah!
- lots of other things essential for a party to go down in history- really, we are open to ideas here....
If you can help there are a variety of rewards on offer- tickets, signed goodies, a big shout out for you or your business, or other brilliant stuff- but none so glorious as knowing that your generosity means we can raise just that bit more for the Fox Foundation, and help them in the fight to beat Parkinson's Disease.
