Project aim

Ten Letters is a spoken word poetry / theatre production about Birmingham, devised by some great up and coming Brum based poets and artists.

About the project

Lorna and I have been lucky enough to be offered an Arts Council England grant to devise and produce a spoken word poetry / multi media / intergenerational piece of theatre. Working with our partners Apples and Snakes (WM) and MAC Birmingham, we're hoping to raise AT LEAST £500 (please don't stop giving if we reach the target!) to provide work for around 20 poets, artists and creators. 'Ten Letters' will be ten spoken word poetry pieces, some may be set to music and / or film, to highlight the city of Birmingham, which is where all project participants are based. Some pieces may be celebratory, some may not, but they will all be 'Letters to Birmingham' by artists from their teens to their sixties. The 'scratch' performances will take place on 13th and 14th July at MAC Birmingham. Please help us to create this valuable piece of poetry theatre. Thank you!!!
