Team Run Weally Cwick: Dan`s Wheelchair Fund

Team Run Weally Cwick (RWC) are running the Royal Parks Half Marathon on 7th October in order to get a young lad some new wheels. Dan Wakefield, a close family friend of Alice Leedale, has a condition called Spinal Muscular Atrophy, which means he is unable to walk, stand or make any movements against gravity. Dan uses a customised electric wheelchair for all his mobility needs. His wheels equal his independence, something which all 26 year olds crave. Dan's existing wheels are now very old and break down frequently, confining Dan to his bed until the wheelchair is repaired. The mission is simple: GET DAN NEW WHEELS. The NHS are unable to provide a wheelchair to meet Dan's needs and wheelchair charities typically do not provide funding for over-25s. Despite the challenges Dan faces - not least being a passionate and award-winning Liverpool supporter - his successes are numerous; he's gained a BA in Geography and a Masters in Business. Now Dan wants to put those skills into action by finding a job. New wheels are a necessity. Dan's cousin has been running a fundraising campaign for six months and so far has raised a whopping £9,000 of the c. £15,000 needed; Team Run Weally Cwick want to get the rest with your help. This is your chance to make a massive difference to a young person's life. Thank you very much for your donation. Team Run Weally Cwick
