Teachers' Convoy travelling to Calais refugee camp to deliver essentials

 Teachers' Convoy to Calais

The EU is facing the gravest crisis since its creation after WWII. With millions of migrants travelling to and through Europe, fleeing war, rape, torture and persecution, the West, and most notably the UK, has been relutant to respond.

We need not post more photos of dead babies on beaches or of the squalor and abject poverty that people are living in in the 'Jungle'. However, we must act.

During October half term, a teachers' convoy will be driving over to Calais to provide essentials (food, clothes, medicine) to the camp as well as volunteer with organisations already operating in the area.

The aim of the trip is also to create a forum in which teachers can discuss how to best discuss in the classroom the issues that this current crisis brings to the fore.

Please donate generously to our cause. All money will go towards transit and accomodation of activists, with the remainder going to the charities working in the camp.
