About our charity

Raw Sounds is an award winning charity in South London, supporting people with mental health problems. The charity delivers music workshops in hospitals and in the community, where participants come every week to write songs, play in the band, and record their music in the studio.

What we want to do

Many of our participants have never left London before. Although they are all musicians themselves, some have never been to a gig. We want to take 10 of our participants to a community music festival in Oxford, for a visit to the countryside and the unique music experience which can only be found at a festival.

We want our participants to be inspired, empowered, and have the beautiful summer memories that mean so much in times of hardship.

The details

The festival we want to go to is also organised by a mental health charity, called Restore. The festival is run by people with experience of mental ill health, so has a wonderful community spirit!

The transport costs are £30 per person, with £10 to spend on food and snacks during the day. We'd like to take 10 people, so are hoping to raise £400.
