I'm looking to gain crowdfunding to fund the 'Active Community Mondays' project run at Harrow Leisure Centre. The two main aims of the project are to tackle loneliness/isolation and physical inactivity amongst older people in Harrow.

Active Community Mondays provides older adults the opportunity to get active and meet new people in a fun, safe environment. The focus is on the social benefits rather than the physical and encourages the development of an active community. The project has been supported by Age UK Harrow, Harrow Council and Harrow Communities Click.

Important statistics to consider:

 - We have an ageing population – the number of people aged 60 or over is expected to pass the 20 million mark by 2030 (Office for National Statistics, 2015).

 - In Harrow, the percentage of adults aged 65+ in Harrow has risen to 22% in 2015, compared to 18% in 2012.

 - The health cost of physical inactivity in Harrow is £1.97million per 100,000 population; compared to £1.7million in London.
