About the project
We want SuStAinable StAlbans Week 2017 to be even bigger and better, as a springboard into a Year of Sustainability in 2018.
Why we want to raise money
This is a bold plan. To achieve it, we want to raise a fighting fund of at least £1,500 as early as possible. We will use this money as "match funding" to help us secure larger grants and to support the run up to SuStAinable StAlbans Week 2017. It means we will start 2017 one step ahead.
If you liked being part of SuStAinable StAlbans Week this year, please invest in our plans to make next year a success too. We're a small team of volunteers that make all this happen, and with such a small budget for such a large week, every little helps.
It's a great adventure. Come and be part of it!
SuStAinable StAlbans Week has been a great adventure in spreading the sustainability message. In early 2015 we didn't know if it would work, and hoped for a few dozen groups to get involved. By November 2015, we knew we'd hit on something that could make a difference. More than 100 groups put on events and activities, and winning two Mayor's Pride awards for the Week was great confirmation of its impact.
SuStAinable StAlbans Week 2016 has been even bigger. It has been great to hear that people had been expecting the Week, and looking forward to attending events. SuStAinable StAlbans Week is a unique opportunity, rooted in the community, to raise awareness and change behaviours about environmental issues and carbon footprint reduction. You can be part of this week, helping us lay the foundations for next year, and helping with this crowd-funding.
To reach as many people as possible, we aim to raise around £25,000 to manage and promote the project, so that even more people across St Albans, Harpenden and the villages can know about it and get involved. Please share this CrowdFunder with others to spread the message wider. Please donate today and play your part.
