The hedgehogs that are in our care come to us because they are poorly, injured, underweight or orphaned. We pride ourselves on our excellent track record for successfully caring for the UK's favorite mammal. Prickles is run primarily on the goodwill of volunteers and is open every day of the year. We are currently caring for 180 hedgehogs and these will be with us for the winter months.
We are in desperate need of funds in order for the charity to continue caring for these little animals which are classified as a Protected Species. Hedgehog number are in dramatic decline, in the 1950's it was there were 50 million in the UK, it is now thought there are less than a million. How sad would it be if our children children grew up in a world where there were no more hedgehogs.
It would be catastrophic for the hedgehogs if Prickles were to close.
