I have recently completed the Great North Run 2016 for my step-son Benjamin.

Suffering from Cystic Fibrosis since birth, Benjamin was given a life expectancy of possibly 30. CF is a degenerative illness which creates excess mucus, making it impossible to gain a normal weight, and seriously damaging the lungs. Benjy will probably need a lung transplant by the time he is in his 20's as well as being on several medications for life, along with a breathing mask when ill and constant physiotherapy. He is highly susceptible to Illness and may spend most of his childhood in and out of hospital. Thankfully we have some amazing researchers out there who are constantly making major breakthroughs- a cure may even be possible in our life time. However in order to make this possible these researchers need funding. Every £1 counts and can make a difference, thank you!
