The Green Party believe in a fairer society for everyone and we're raising funds to help us campaign up to and beyond the May 2015 General Election.
All the money we raise with this campaign will go towards the local party's expenses, including printing, travel and meeting room hire.
Phil Randle is the Green Party candidate for the South West Wilts constituency, which includes the towns of Trowbridge, Westbury, Warminster, Mere, and Tisbury.
Phil, 62, was brought up in Bath and has lived and worked in Westbury and Trowbridge for the past 30 years. He currently works in the hospitality sector. Prior to that, he had a 22 year career working for a large food manufacturer, both on the shop floor and in training. "Empowering workers at all levels has been part of my life and still is" he says.
As a father of three grown-up children, he's been closely involved with local schools and took part in a movement to encourage children to continue into further education. "I have always wanted local people to feel they are able to contribute to community decisions and actions" he said.
"I am convinced the Green Party's policies are the best solution to the problems we all face. We aim to protect and improve not only the physical environment, but also the social and economic environments. We must support the NHS not undermine it, bring the railways back into public control not increase privatisation, and tax the top two percent - not the poorest and most vulnerable."
"At a local level we need to act and listen to our communities. I hope to give full support and a strong voice to these issues that have been raised recently:
- Stop the sale of Westbury Community Hospital site for private housing and keep it as a community resource
- Stop the proposal to cut the Connect to Wiltshire Royal United Hospital Bath bus service
- Stop the out of town developments and promote our town centres and small businesses
I am proud to have the opportunity to represent the Green Party and local people and their views."
