We are 5 students from Aalborg University in Copenhagen - 2 Danes, 1 Slovak, 1 Faroese and 1 British. We are writing our Masters project on the Social structure of refugee camps, using ‘The Jungle’ in Calais, as a case study. We will be joined by Polly's parents and aunt (2 builders and a nurse) who will be volunteering their time in the camps and the warehouse. The main purpose of our trip to Calais is to conduct research, but we will help with what we can: volunteering, raising awareness of the conditions in "The Jungle" and using the money we raise to buy supplies.

The needs of the camp are ever changing, but there is a distinct lack of shelter, firewood, food and footwear. We've decided to raise money towards anything that could be needed within the camp and to that end we ask that you support us so that we can help as much as possible.

The smallest contribution goes a long way.

For those of you in Denmark, if you want to Mobile Pay the number is 22 27 79 75. Please write "CALAIS" with your donation.

To give you an idea of the standard of living in the camp and what we are trying to change, here is a link to an independent report into the horrible conditions in Calais:
