This June I will be heading out to Fiji as part of a volunteer project with Think Pacific. For 4 weeks I will be volunteering and supporting some of the poorest children in the rural areas of Fiji. Schools in Fiji, particularly those in rural areas are understaffed and severely lacking in basic materials. Poverty forces many children to drop out of education early and children are forced into a future of limited education and opportunity. For the duration of this project I will be assisting local teachers within rural primary and secondary schools, organising one to one tuition, leading kindergarten classes, pioneering extra-curricular activities and youth clubs and implementing grass roots sports development initiatives, which include daily PE classes and sports outreach workshops.
I am funding the cost of this expedition (flights, accommodation and expenses), however I need to raise £600 for the Think Pacific Foundation. 100% of this money will be used to support development aims for children in Fiji. Including the purchase of educational resources such as books and writing equipment and sports equipment for rural schools. It will fund youth outreach schemes such as art, drama and music, as well as support rural kindergarten schools, health awareness initiatives and sports development. So any donation would be hugely appreciated.
The Think Pacific Foundation are a registered youth development charity in Fiji who work year round to facilitate a sustainable plan of youth, sports and basic infrastructure development across the Fiji Islands. They are an award winning UK non for profit and Registered Fijian Charity. As part of this project we will be working in conjunction with the Fijian Government to help make a real impact to sustainable youth and sports development projects.
Any donation would be hugely appreciated! Thank you.
