Jack hammers target thanks to over 3,000 supporters

West Ham United join backers of campaign to raise £150,000 for pioneering cancer treatment in the US

Jack Howard is a 12-year-old boy battling cancer.

He has a Wilms Tumor, a childhood cancer, which he is fighting for the second time.

In 2013 Jack underwent a year of gruelling chemotherapy and radiotherapy, as well as having his kidney removed.

He went into remission in February 2014 but the cancer returned in December 2015.

ImageHaving been told that there's nothing more UK doctors can do, Jack's family sought a solution elsewhere in the world, finding a pioneering treatment in Los Angeles that could save Jack's life.

The family turned to Crowdfunder to raise the funds needed.

Within 20 days they had the £77,000 needed as the down payment for Jack's treatment, and flew out to America on 19 September to begin.

The project has now been supported by over 3,000 backers, including a generous £5,000 donation from David Sullivan, Chairman of Jack's beloved West Ham United, with a matched donation of £5,000 from the club.

The family now have just five days remaining to raise the the remainder of the £250,000 needed.
