I need a designated area/room to do my work, and need some help with initial funding. It has to be a temporary structure that conforms to building regulations. It doesn't need to be massive- I just need some room for a table for my loom and warping mill, a chair, and some shelving for all my yarn.
The money I raise will go towards the whole project from start to finish. The more I raise, the smaller the amount of loan I need to borrow from the bank.
Please check out the rewards for this project-
I have lots of all types of yarn that I've accumulated over a few years now, so I can use them to weave some products in return for some financial support.
I have been looking into many possibilities for my studio, but it will certainly be as low impact on the environment as possible. I've also looked at purchasing some small scale domestic solar panels so I can run my desk lamp, as it won't have electricity.
Having a studio will mean that I have a safe place for my yarn and loom, and have a designated work area for my final year at Carmarthen School of Art. I plan to work from home (currently the kitchen table) 3 days a week, and going into university for my tutorials with lecturers 2 days.
Once I finish my degree next year, I plan to be self-employed, and having the studio means that I will already have a premesis to start my business from.
