We want to start up Stripes® Snack Food Co. and bring our 'Hand Cooked' Crisps, inspired by Walter Rothschild, to Tring and the Chilterns...

The idea...

Our small market town of Tring in Hertfordshire has a fantastic brewery producing some great beer and a great selection of pubs in the Town and surrounding area to enjoy drinking it in. So we had a thought - “Why not also have some ‘Tring themed’ ‘hand cooked’ crisps to snack on while you enjoy your pint?” And so the idea of producing Stripes Hand Cooked Crisps was born.

The packaging and branding...

The inspiration behind the eye-catching ‘stripes’ branding came about after discovering and reading an article about Baron Walter Rothschild using tamed zebras to pull a carriage around Tring and the surrounding area over 100 years ago. The article will appear on the back of the crisp packets...

The flavours...

We want to start with just three flavours. We would like to have more, but the logistics of producing and packaging these extra flavours multiplies greatly and will have a bigger impact on the production costs. By starting with just three, we can keep the amount of cash we need to raise smaller at this start-up stage. More flavours will be introduced over time.

Local newspaper and radio...

We have already had coverage in local newspapers, more is planned as well as local radio coverage to promote our crowdfunding story. We've also had loads of support through Tring's Facebook page 'Everything Tring' as well as many retail outlets in the area all willing to stock our crisps.

Stripes Crisps - supporting zebras (and other animals!) in the wild...

If you are kind enough to make a pledge to support our project and we launch successfully, you would also be helping real zebras in the wild as we aim to donate 1p from every pack sold to the World Wildlife Fund.
