Redearth Education is fundraising to help 5 children escape a life of poverty in rural Uganda. With £2,000 we can put 5 of the poorest 3 year olds through the first year of preprimary education and transform their lives.
Can YOU help them secure a better future?
We have saved a place at the Redearth Nursery for 5 vulnerable children. These are some of the poorest and most disadvantaged in the community. Some are orphans, others are from child-headed families whose parents have
died. Left alone, without a safe and nurturing environment to support them, they have little chance of a brighter future.
With your help, we can provide these 5 children with a strong foundation of skills that will enable them to succeed in school. We can ensure that they have fun, positive childhood experiences, that their needs for stimulation and support are met, and that they learn to interact well with their peers and their surroundings.
As a sponsor, you will completely transform a young child's life. We will make sure you are an integral part of their journey for the next 3 years. You will receive a biography of the child you are sponsoring, as well as annual updates, photos, drawings and letters.
Why Preprimary education?
A child's development in the first five years of his/her life helps determine what kind of life they will lead. Between the ages of 3-5, children need structured and guided opportunities through which to develop their cognitive, language, social and emotional skills. Gaps in development during this time can have a life-long impact on physical and mental health, learning, behaviour and the ability of a child to reach his or her full potential.
Pre-primary education receives just 1.15% of total aid to education. We need to change this now so that more children are given an equal start in life.
The Redearth Education's nursery will provide these 5 vulnerable children with a safe space in which to grow and develop. It will increase their school readiness, by developing both cognitive and non-cognitive skills, leading to higher academic achievement and decreasing the likelihood that they will repeat a grade or drop out of school. It will transform their lives.
How much do we need to raise?
To put one child through the Redearth Nursery, it costs £400 per year, for 3 years.
£400 for 1 year covers:
- all staffing costs
- food & drink
- school uniform & learning resources
- any additional costs such as school outings
But we want to help 5. That's why we need your help.
How can YOU help right now?
There are several ways to help a child secure a better future:
One off donations:

- Make a one off donation of £400 and fund 1 child's first year of nursery entirely in one go
- Make a one off donation of £1,200 and fund 1 child's entire preprimary education in one go
