i am trying to complete the restoration of spencer, my 1971 citroen dyane 6 .
i have been restoring spencer since i aquired him about a year ago . so far i have had the engine replaced and had 123 ignition fitted. both front wings and the bonnet replaced and the brakes made good .
i have stripped the seats and replaced all the rubbers and completely recovered them and also fitted a new roof.
i still need to replace carburettor and clutch along with new alternator and ht leads and a front end wiring loom. will also need a small amount of welding and anything else that appears at mot in november.
i have done quite a bit of this myself and paid professionals to do the rest . however i have not worked since loosing my psv licence in sept 2013 when it was revoked by the dvla due to me no longer being able to meet the health requirements to hold a psv licence. [ i started using insulin to treat my diabetes]. i can now only drive vehicles below 3.5 tonne on a medical restricted car licence. diabetes courses me to tire easily and restricts the amount of work i can do myself. i walk with a stick, due to problems with my foot caused by the diabetes and this is making it difficult to find alternative employment . so am struggling to find money to fund the work required.
next year 2017 is the 50th anniversary of the citroen dyane and spencer will be 46 years old so he is a very early model and a rare upside down door handle version. i am deperate to get the work completed so can take spencer to 2cvgb club events in 2017 and most importantly the DYANE 50 event
