Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Dreams is a networking event created for Young People in London (UK), the aim of the event is to empower and encourage young people to follow their dreams despite their current background, circumstances, environment and skills. The idea of the event developed from my own personal experience of attending networking events but also because of the constant messages I receive from social media from young people asking to be connected to someone from my contacts for a project or a business matter.
The mission of Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Dreams is to create the leaders and entrepreneurs of tomorrow by organising networking events for young people aged 16-26.
The vision is to create a database of young people in the UK and provide a platform for them to be recognised for their talents, accomplishments and contributions towards society. The first Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Dreams will be launched on Saturday 3rd December 2016 at Crest Academy, Neasden NW2 7SN between 6-9pm and after that the events will take place every 3 months.
The event will run under my YouTube brand 'Dose Of Inspiration' which provides a platform to recognise young people's talents, interviewing inspirational young people and motivating them through topic based videos and spoken word. I took my mission for my YouTube Channel and turned it into an event.
I am passionate about empowering the young generation between 16-26 because I believe that is the pinnacle age where the choices we make shape our future, forever. I remember when I was 16 I left secondary school with one GCSE and when I was 19 I left college with no A-levels. Today, I am a 2.1 graduate, Entrepreneur, Public Speaker, Motivational Speaker, YouTuber, Spoken Word Artist and an Ambassador for the Muslim Community. I was recognized as a Young Leader and Youth Ambassador by the Metro Newspaper in 2012 and in 2013, I was chosen as part of Microsoft’s Programme Innovate for Good Programme to pitch a business idea to the CEO of Microsoft. Today, my work has been featured on The Huffington Post, The Independent, BBC 3 (online), Reuters TV, Islam Channel, British Muslim TV and London Live.
However, before I reached all of this I had to go through ALOT of personal growth because before all of this I was clinically depressed. My depression started because of the circumstances I was going through when I was 15 years old, however, I had enough belief in myself and I knew that I deserved to be successful but I never know how to reach that stage until I discovered personal growth. The purpose of my event is to introduce young people to the world of personal growth because through personal growth I also found a mentor who completely changed my life and it all started with one decision which was change.
I created this crowdfunding page so I can raise money for my event. I have less than a month to raise the money and I would love your support. The money raised for this event will go to fund the speakers, performers, venue and catering. Remember that every penny you give will go towards giving the next generation a better future.
