Skype Tutoring Friends in South Africa

We need projectors so that we can better Skype tutor students in South Africa.

We did it!

On 22nd May 2016 we successfully raised £110 with 3 supporters in 28 days

We need projectors so that we can better Skype tutor kids in South Africa.

As part of World Class Program , we (Dilruba and Michelle) have been Skype tutoring students age 12-16 in Pretoria, South Africa since November 2015.

We each have a class of 7+ kids per session (around 2 hours), where we do English and Maths.

But the problem is there is only one laptop for each class.

The kids need to huddle around one laptop and it's hard for everyone to see the screen. We can't see all the kids when we're talking to them either. It's hard to connect with the kids and inspire them when we can't see them properly.

So we want to raise money for 2 projectors, so that the kids can see the screens clearly and we can see them! It would make learning for them so much easier. The projectors are 5000 South African Rands each, which is around 240 GBP.

If we don't raise enough money for the projectors, or we have any extra money left (in the case that we only raise enough for one projector but there's a bit more money), we will use it to buy books for the students and send them. It'd be great to have a book we can all read together, so we can have a real example of literary terms and techniques - and more importantly so that they can develop a love for reading.

Our classes have grown in size and enthusiasm and we need your help so that we can keep students inspired!
