Single Mum starting recruitment agency for parents

Hard working single Mother trying to start a recruitment agency specifically for parents to give them the opportunities they deserve.

New stretch target

Any additional money will help towards marketing, brand development, pre set up costs and anything that will help me get the ball rolling as well as strengthening my business plan with the Princes Trust to get the loan amount I need to set the business up.

Hi everyone. I'm Sacha Atherton, a hard working single Mother who left my job as a Product Manager when my employer wouldn't support me with my Daughter starting school. I have worked for 14 years.

My experience inspired me to start a recruitment and career consultancy focused on giving parents the career opportunities and work life balance they deserve; to stop them having to sacrifice one for the other and minimise both the economical and social effects many of them are facing.

The objective of my company and it's ethos will be to encourage UK businesses in being more supportive to the ever growing demographic of working parents that want to maintain their career, but not at the cost of their families.

Initially, this will be targeted at skilled, experienced, career driven professionals seeking mid- higher end salaries. I personally know how hard it is to find these jobs, particularly in the Midlands. It's clear that the industry lacks a family- friendly recruitment process; employers are missing out on highly capable individuals by omitting a bit of flexibility.

I am currently supported by the Princes Trust but have no money to fund the business until I have a business loan approved by them as I am currently unemployed which makes the early stages of setting this company up, market testing, marketing and promotion particularly difficult.

I would like to arrange some coffee and careers events to connect with my target market and get the word out there about what I am trying to do and gain as much support as possible, this is where you can help. I can use the money for the events and a small amount of promotional merchandise which will hopefully help my business plan with the Princes Trust and allow me to get this company up and running for these parents. This really means a lot to me and I will do what I can to make it happen.
