Save our Citizens

To contribute to the first duty of government - to protect our people from harm

Project aim

To contribute to the first duty of government - to protect our people from harm.

About the project

The common consensus would have it that the first duty of government is the protection of its citizens – Adam Smith, Thomas Jefferson, political leaders of the past, both nationally and internationally, unite around this understanding.

“Government's first duty is to protect the people, not run their lives”

Ronald Reagan (1981)

Policy makers and agencies alike would appear to have a conflict of priorities as a result of the impact of liberalism and political correctness.

Our daily media diet overwhelmingly consists of the threat posed by Islamist extremism, both at home and abroad. We are repulsed and horrified by the sheer barbarity of the atrocities, including the murder of British citizens

Bewildered by the apparent struggles of the government and international community to construct a cohesive response and shocked by the numbers of British subjects murdered in cold blood on a regular basis, we are forming a new organisation to directly address the issue of making the world a safe place for all British Citizens and the Citizens of the peace loving world.

Thirteen years have passed since 9/11, nine since we experienced the seismic shock of home grown suicide bombers  in London and, of course, more recently we witnessed the brutal slaying of Lee Rigby on our streets.

On a wider policy front there are varying estimates of the number of our young people radicalized by an extreme Islamist ideology – worryingly, these estimates never seem to reduce. Add to this mix the disturbing findings outlined in Peter Clarke’s report on the policies practiced within some schools in the West Midlands area and, despite the many operational successes of the police and security services in countering the threat to all British citizens, the scale of challenge appears ever greater.

We have now seen the first arrests as a result of alleged Isil-linked terrorist plots on British soil.

Though it is a ‘truism’ to state that there is no such thing as absolute security, we need to assess our collective capability, both now and going forward. We need to contribute to that first duty of government - to protect our people. Our Government is failing us and it is our children and grandchildren that will pay the price. We must take responsibility on an individual basis before it is too late.

“If [Isis] succeed in firmly consolidating their grip on the land they occupy in Syria and Iraq, we will see the world’s first truly terrorist state established within a few hours flying time of our country,”

Theresa May -2015

They invade our space, and we fall back. They annexe lands and terrorise the innocent, and we fall back. Not again. Not this time. The line must be drawn. This far, no farther!

Save our Citizens will invest the money we raise to:

  • find and fund new ways to protect our Citizens.

  • hold the Govenment of the day to account to make sure they are doing the same.
