Sawarsoti is an 11 year old girl from Kalikot district - the far west of Nepal. She is youngest of 6 - the others all being many years older. Her parents are now eldery subsistence farmers, who live in incredibly basic living conditions without running water or power. Her siblings do not have enough money to pay for her education, and it is likely she would be married off young if she does not gain an education. Her oldest brother - Lalit, was a recipient of a Doctors For Nepal medical scholarship. He now has his own young family, and postgraduate education to pay for; hence we have decided to ensure that Sawarsoti gets a decent education, which will stand her in good stead for the rest of her life.
