The campaign for the Scottish Parliamentary election starts here.
Next year’s Holyrood election is hugely important. Not only will the next parliament make decisions over issues like health and education, transport and tax – but it could also vote on calling a second independence referendum. To stop that from happening, we need strong pro-UK voices in Holyrood who will speak up for the 2 million Scots who voted ‘No’ and will always defend Scotland’s place in Britain.
As the leader of the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party, Ruth fought hard during the referendum campaign to keep our United Kingdom together and will continue to make that positive case for the Union. Re-elect Ruth to the Scottish Parliament, and she’ll fight for constituents across Edinburgh Central – and beyond – on the issues that matter to you.
How you can help Ruth Davidson and the Scottish Conservatives
Edinburgh Central covers the heart of Scotland’s capital. It takes in some of the city’s most recognisable landmarks, including the Scottish Parliament itself. It’s the seat Ruth was born in and is where she lives and works.
The constituency is currently held by the SNP (by a wafer-thin margin), but with your help, we can spread Tory blue across the length and breadth of the Edinburgh Central seat. Your donations will help us contact thousands of voters, explain our Conservative vision and start a conversation about their ambitions for our capital and our country.
- £10 will pay for 15 letters to recruit new volunteers
- £15 funds a leaflet campaign to 500 voters
- £100 provides 5000 colour calling cards for doorstep canvassing
- £450 pays for telephone canvassing to 500 floating voters
Please donate whatever you can – every penny will help get Ruth Davidson re-elected to the Scottish Parliament.
If you are kind enough to donate more than £50 to our campaign, your name and address will be checked against the electoral register to ensure that you are eligible to donate. Your name, but not your address, will be made available on request by the Council after the election.
