Help me run the London Marathon 2017 and Fundraise for Save the Children. I also want to Fulfil a Lifelong Dream and Be An Inspiration to my own kids!
I've wanted to run the London Marathon since I was 8 years old. I vividly remember watching the very first race in 1981 with my Wee Granny in Dundee. Back in the days that we only had 3 Channels...it was the most colourful, exciting and inspiring thing I'd ever seen!
Fast forward 35 years and I'm a single Mum with three beautiful kids. In 2013 I escaped from an abusive relationship, and although things are still tough, I want to inspire my kids to Follow Their Dreams....no matter how hard or impossible they may seem!
Running has really given me my confidence back and it has kept me sane through all the bad times.
I was unlucky in the Marathon Ballot but managed to secure a charity place to run for Save the Children. So I've been given a fundraising target of £1895 and have raised more than £200 already. But I need everyone's help get closer to my target so I can stop worrying and just concentrate on my training. I can't do this on my own!
I chose Save the Children because it breaks my heart to watch children living in horrendous conditions, starving, drowning and being pulled from rubble. As a Mum I want to do something to HELP...and because avoiding the news is no longer an option.
Thank you so much for any and all donations...no matter how small.
