I'm helping a wonderful group of adults in the North Yorkshire and Middlesbrough to have a ball/prom evening. There are 200+ residents and community members who have learning and physical disabilities and challenging behaviour.
Ages vary from 16 - 70+ and this is a one in a lifetime opportunity for some individuals. They want to be recognised for their achievements.
Residents want their ball in Gisborough Hall in November and want to be in the newspaper.
Some of the comments from our resident organisers
'we are so looking forward to having a fun evening, dancing and meeting my girlfriend"
"I'm so looking forward to feeling special, I want to feel special. I'm proud of my community and I want to be recognised for who I am and for my hard work"
We are paying for our own meals but we have so much more to pay for, including our support from staff, transport, decorations for the room, balloons, flowers.
We have already received some generous donations from Simon Ereira and Darlington Vintage Wedding Company, and butterflies who have donated dresses, Thank you and thank you to all the individuals who have donated dresses and suits.
Thank you for your donations.
