We work with people with learning disabilities  and the long term unemployed. Our aim is to grow peoples self- confidence and get them believing they can achieve anything in life.

We have had some real postive out comes over the last few years. People have told us that their lives have changed and moved forward because our belief in them  .

School had let them down , but now they have got a future and a job.

By giving people time and a chance to learn at their own pace progress is made, taking time to listen we spot their hidden talents.

We are based on a family farm near the Derbyshire Peak district. High Ashes Rural Project was offically launched  Two years ago. One of our first projects , was to create a woodland for wildlife. 6500  native British trees where planted. Now  Three different types of owls, call the new woodland area home and other birds of prey visit regularly.

We need your help to move the project forward.

In March 2016 we had the horrific experience of our family home catching  fire due to a freak accident. Our beloved pet dogs , that worked with people to build  confidence, died in the fire. This totally devastated us as a family.

However  because of the support that we received  from friends , we decided  to continue with the project.

Then in August  2016 the building that we use for the project , got destroyed by a second  unexplained fire. This building was not insured . This has left us with no permanent building to work from and no safe haven  when the weather turns.

We are lucky to have an old redundant farm building , we have decided to convert it to provide  shelter for our team members and giving them space to learn more skills, and develop  positive relationships. No longer a ignored barn with no roof or facilities,we are transforming it into a safe haven. Volunteers are helping us to renovate it, but time, weather and money work against us.We teach never to give up, we want to carry that on and forward. We need donations to pay for materials and equipment, and extra helpful hands to rebuild and progress foward. Out of ashes can be formed a stronger High Ashes, more equipped to help all who come through our gates.
