Remit Group The Nottingham-based training provider is joining The Real Rally 2017, which will see just short of 30 cars, both classic cars and ‘bangers’, travel in convoy through Northern France, on to South Belgium, ending in the beautiful medieval city of Bruges. The journey begins on Wednesday 17th May at the Euro-tunnel terminal in Folkstone.
Now in its second year, the rally is organised and headed up by Bob Linwood from the charity, REAL. All the money raised will go towards REALfriends, supporting bullied children, and REALexperience, creating apprentice opportunities for 14-16 year olds in the vehicle repair industry, a scheme which is supported by the industry charity, AutoRaise.
Bob Linwood said: “The rally was such a brilliant success last year that we decided we couldn’t miss the opportunity to do it again. It was great fun and gave us the chance to raise a fantastic sum of money for these two charities. We are all looking forward to the trip and creating some great memories.”
With a proud history of supporting young people looking to start a career in the automotive industry, Remit Group’s ‘Battered and Bruge’ team are also putting ‘the learner at the heart of everything’ with their choice of Rally car. Rather than invest in something their two fearless drivers would look good in, they chose one that would allow their young learners maximum involvement instead!
Enter the Smart ForFour. With just 3 cylinders and 800cc most motorbikes have more pulling power, but the panels are light and come off easily, allowing Remit Apprentices across the land show off their skills by prepping, spraying and finishing a panel in a style of their own choosing. That’s six individual panels in six different styles so what will it look like? You’ll find out at Folkstone folks!
