Re-elect Green councillors in Brighton & Hove

A GREENER FUTURE – WITH YOUR SUPPORT

Project aim

A GREENER FUTURE – WITH YOUR SUPPORT

Please help us raise funds to elect Green councillors on 7th May. The Greens have run Brighton & Hove City Council as a minority administration since 2011. During a time of savage Government cuts, the Greens have notched up many achievements. In contrast to other councils, we’ve kept open front line services, libraries and children’s centres. We introduced the Living Wage and refused to implement the bedroom tax. We have attracted £95 million of external funding to regenerate the city. Areas such as The Level, London Road, the Open Market, Seven Dials and Brighton Station have been transformed for the benefit of residents and visitors alike.

Brighton & Hove’s economy is now outperforming the rest of the country outside London. We are one of the top four UK cities for business start-ups and have seen 9000 jobs created. But this economic regeneration is balanced with care for our environment. We have been recognised by the United Nations as the UK's first new Biosphere Reserve for 40 years and in 2013, Brighton & Hove was designated the world’s first “One Planet City” for our sustainability initiatives. We have also sought to make Brighton & Hove more inclusive by implementing recommendations made by our pioneering needs assessments for the BME, disabled and trans communities.

Our Green initiatives have won many accolades such as the ‘Driving Growth’ award from the Local Government Chronicle; ‘City of the Year 2014’ by CIVITAS - Europe's top accolade for cities committed to sustainable transport. The Level has won a Civic Trust Award for its outstanding contribution to the environment and community, and Stonewall named us the UK’s most LGB-friendly council.

Over the next four years, the city is set to lose a further £90million in Government funding. Greens are committed to protecting the environment, safeguarding services, fighting privatisation and thinking innovatively to ensure Brighton & Hove continues to thrive. To achieve this, we need to elect as many Green councillors as possible on 7th May. Unlike other parties, we don't have big business or trade union backing and so we need to raise funds from our supporters. Please help our election campaign by giving whatever you can afford.

Rewards are given on a first-come, first-served basis. If you would prefer a reward that’s lower than your pledge, please let us know. You can collect your reward from our city-centre office or if you provide your contact details, rewards can be emailed or posted.

THANK YOU!
