About the project
We are a non-profit organisation that aims to raise awareness about personal safety and prevention in areas of rape and sexual assault, while openly discussing how pornography and social media influence attitudes. We also address how media can negatively affect body image and self-esteem.
We are the 'go-to' resource for empowering young people to make well informed decisions about relationships and personal safety issues, in an ever more complicated world. We intiate tough conversations to engage and empower young people to navigate complex, on and offline relationships. The RAP Project is built on straight talk, mutual resect and recognition of the digital divide separating young people and adults.
We have now provided a variety of programmes for teenagers, young adults and parents in over 80 schools in England and Scotland and have reached over 10,000 teenagers. We have also participated in forums and delivered presentations to large corporations, like Acceture.
Through our workshops, we engage young people in conversationa about social and relationship skills, body image as well as internet safety.
We are also working hard on our book that is due to be published by Ebury Press in 2016.
There is no doubt The RAP Project is making a welcome impact on teens. We hope that these wristbands will further spread our message: Awareness is Power.
