Hi everyone, my name is David i was born in Dundee, Scotland  and I am 33years old, and i have a lifetime dream oportunity of owning and  building my own Mini race car,  During  the last 2 years I`ve tried to make it happen by racing in the Scottish Fiesta Championship. I did a few rounds in 2016 but budget was an issue along with a very unreliable race car.  in 2015 i competed in my very 1st competitive race and to my amazement i won both races that day coming 1st in the newcomers and 3rd in the main championship, but in round 3 we sufffered a major crash that twisted the whole rear of our Xr2 and it was not as quick as it was in previous rounds so we finished the 2015 season in 5th in the newcomers and 7th in the main championship. not bad for my very 1st year of competing in motorsport.

2016 saw us with a new shell and a rebuild from the old car to the new one and we were plagued with engine issues throughout the season and with a 30+ year old car it was difficult to get the spares on the budget we had. But we plodded on and finished the season on a high finishing the last 2 rounds in 3rd place.

The story behind my move to motorsport will be written below along with a little story behind it please dont look at this as a sympathy letter but more of an adventure that i would like my backers to follow.

I have always had a passion for racing but coming from a non motorsport backround and with family not really interested in the sport i decided to take the plunge and search day and night for sponsorship/funding.

In 2012 my father passed away suddenly and this is where my motorport took another step. Here is a paragraph from my website:

Due to the untimely and devastating loss of my much loved father, William ‘Billy’ Piggot, to Ischemic Heart Disease in the April of 2012 at the age of 58, myself and my family wish to raise awareness of the British Heart Foundation through DM-Racing.

My father’s condition had not been diagnosed as it can only be detected through ECG or heart specific tests so his death shocked and upset all those close to such a loving, kind and supportive man.

By raising awareness with the British Heart Foundation we can ensure that the facts of heart disease are well highlighted, keeping everyone informed of current issues, offering all important advice and support to all those involved as well as raising all important funds into research and preventative avenues.

I look forward to the race season knowing that my father would be extremely proud of me today with all the hard work that has, and is, being put into my racing career and raising awareness into heart disease if only to help others suffering from a loss or seeing someone going through heart disease in any form.

from then i needed something to focus on and a friend of mine offered to help and source and Xr2 race car in 2012. SO the car was bought the race license passed and all ready to race.

Now 2017 has come i am looking to compete in the Celtic Speed Scottish Mini Cooper Championship and this is where i ask you the possible backers to help.

I want to thank each one of you from the bottom of my heart for any donations or even for your time to read this and share it.

If you would rather not make a donation here and would like to discuss further options then please Email me, David.dmracing@gmail.com

If by any chance I will not be able to raise the sufficient funds this year I will make sure all the money goes either back to you or to any charity or project at your choice.

Thank you

David Taylor
