Rabblerouse Theatre was founded four years ago, when we were put together by the Theatre Royal Plymouth to form the first Lab Company for emerging theatre makers. Under this scheme, we performed our first show 'Sanctuary' at the Lab in December 2013. We continue to deliver both new writing and devised work, having since performed our original plays 'Breakers', 'Witch Hunt' and 'She Persisted' at venues and festivals across Devon.
We currently have a few exciting projects and plans in the pipeline...
The first is our new show 'A Cautionary Tale', which will be performed in The Lab at the Theatre Royal Plymouth on December 13th and 14th.
"Cautionary tales don’t need a happy ever after; the babies are bit, the moon’s in a fit, and the houses are built without walls. Based on a series of Victorian rhymes for children, this show plays with the once upon a time." Please click here for more info and tickets.
Our second aim is to tour our recent show 'She Persisted', which was seen at this year's Plymouth Fringe Festival, where it received a 'Toast of Plymouth Fringe' award.
"She Persisted: powerful, strident, delicate and touching – a harmonised rallying cry that echoes through ages ... And we can hope that She Persisted gets an opportunity to tell their stories again and again." The PRSD, read the full review here.
We are also in the process of applying for an arts council bid, which, as some of you may know, is a long and challenging task. In order to receive funding we must show that we have capably raised funds elsewhere, and this is where we need your help, please! However much you could kindly donate would be massively appreciated; your donation will contribute towards costume, props, marketing, and insurance costs. We thank you in advance and look forward to sharing our work with you!
