Project aim

7 students from TRFWIA will be running the Bristol half marathon to raise funds to renovate and redecorate a run down government school for children with hearing disablitlies, Shri Harsha Mishra Memorial School For the Deaf, in Orissa, India.

About the project

The 12 of us, a group of sixthformers from TRFWIA (an academy in Winterbourne, Bristol), will be travelling to India on October 24th to complete refurbishments and renovations to the facilities in Shri Harsha Mishra Memorial School For the Deaf, and also to provide invaluable workshops and playtime with the children who attend the school. Our aim is to do what we can to improve the quality of the facilities within the school in an attempt to enable disadvantaged children to have a better, brighter, and more comfortable atmosphere to learn in.

For all of us, this project in India is an experience for us to recognise the fortunate position we are in as students of the academy, and using this knowledge to give whatever we can to an area that is comparatively underprivileged.
