Project 'Brianne'

Project 'Brianne'

I would like to try and raise enough money for my respite project for the elderly, minor disabled and dementia clients.

Unfortunately, this project was not successful

My story.................

I currently run my own business as a 'homehelp carer' to clients in my local area.  I work in the clients homes, being the shadow that they need to help them with the things they are unable to do on a day to day basis. I am the extra pair of hands, legs, eyes and ears they need to help them. This can be a very challenging role, but also extremely rewarding, giving the client as much independance as they need to remain in their own home. But, everyone needs to socialise away from home sometimes and not being stuck in the same environment day in, day out with nothing to look forward to!! They need something to look forward to, to make their lives complete, whether its a fresh cooked meal out, away from home that someone else has cooked; someone to chat to for a while or  a social day, playing games and having some fun, watching a film or having some time in the garden with a cool drink, great company and the sun shining on them. This gives them a sense of importance and keeps their minds active and motivates them........... it gives them a purpose to get up every morning.......

For a couple of years now,  i have had a passionate goal for setting up a respite day care for the elderly, minor disabled and dementia clients. To give them a social lifestyle they have forgotten to have and to give them, and their families a break and some freedom.

My husband and I have tried to get on the property ladder several times in the past, enabling us to buy a big enough property to set up my project, enabling access for wheelchairs etc, but its just far to difficult and almost impossible to raised the kind of deposit  the lenders are requiring. So after this long journey, i finally heard about crowdfunding on the TV and how it could help set up this project to support the vulnerable and elderly.  To make this at all possible, we are looking to purchase a property as our home, but also big enough to have the space to accommodate several clients each time for respite.......

This is a big step, but an exciting one, and here is where is starts to hopefully make it happen.

Thank you for taking the time to read about my project......
