The people of Conisbrough have always been respectful of our "fallen" by attending Remembrance Day in greater numbers each year. As this year also marks the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of the Somme we want to raise money to do something really special.
We'd like to project Poppy's onto Conisbrough Castle Keep on the evenings of 11th, 12th and 13th November. Permission has been granted by English Heritage and we have the backing of Conisbrough & Denaby British Legion.
This was done very successfully last year at St Nicholas Church in High Bradfield in Sheffield. It attracted visitors from all over Yorkshire and raised funds for Help for Heroes, the Church and the British Legion.
After project costs, all money raised will go to the British Legion, collections will also be made each evening at the Castle.
This project has the support of Conisbrough & Denaby Branch of the British Legion, Conisbrough Music Fest, Conisbrough Forward, English Heritage, Doncaster West Development Trust, Light up the Castle and our local Councillors. Please help to be part of making this happen by pledging as little as five pounds.
